Horsham Matters works to improve the well-being of local people with the provision of essential services (food, fuel, shelter) to those experiencing hardship, irrespective of their background or circumstances.
Crucial to this support in the community is providing emergency food for individuals and families through the Horsham District Foodbank and running the Horsham Night Shelter which provides homeless people with a bed and food for the winter months.
There are five Foodbanks in our operating area; three in Horsham, one in Storrington and a brand new provision in Henfield. Demand increased 35% last year (Apr 18 - Mar 19) with the Foodbank supplying 1882 emergency food parcels, of which 673 went to children.
The Night Shelter is run in partnership with Horsham Churches Together, with a team of over 250 dedicated volunteers giving their time to provide shelter, meals, opportunities to shower & wash clothes and work with other agencies to enable the individuals' journey towards being housed.
We need your help so that until we reach a future where food banks and a night shelter are no longer needed we can continue to provide vital support where it matters most in our community.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
