About us
The Shelley Memorial Project is a Community Interest Company of volunteers, based in Horsham, which aims to create a public artwork dedicated to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822). The artwork will be situated in Horsham Park, in the heart of the town.
Despite international recognition of Shelley’s contribution to literature and social & political thought, there is no public commemoration of the life and work of this towering literary figure in Horsham, the town most associated with his birth and early life.
By highlighting Horsham’s essential link to one of the best known Romantic poets we will mark our town’s place within the nation’s cultural heritage, inspiring talent within our community, especially young talent, since Shelley achieved so much in his very short life.
We urgently need funds to make this project a reality.
Please help us by contributing to the Community Lottery.
